Once the water is boiling, reduce to a low heat and simmer for 18-20 minutes. Check texture is to your preference, cooking for longer if a softer texture is preferred.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4. When the rice is cooked to your preference remove the pan from the heat, drain the water and return rice to the pan.
