Organic Yerba Mate Loose Leaf Tea
Organic Yerba Mate originates from South America and is renowned for being the main ingredient in the continent's national beverage. This herb is traditionally prepared by steeping dried yerba mate leaves in hot water, resulting in a tea-like infusion that can be enjoyed hot or cold. Our Organic Yerba Mate, sourced from Brazil, features whole-cut tea leaves measuring 4mm in length. This form is highly preferred over ground powder for its lighter and less bitter flavour profile.
In addition to its popularity as a beverage, yerba mate stands out among other stimulants like tea, coffee and cacao as one of the few plants containing caffeine. However, unlike its counterparts, yerba mate provides a gentle and sustained energy boost. Each cup of yerba mate typically contains approximately 30-50 mg of caffeine.
Suggested uses:
Begin by wetting 3g of yerba mate leaves with 2ml of cold water. Next, add 180ml of hot water to brew the yerba mate in a Yerba Mate Gourd for optimal flavour and experience.
