Best Before Dates & Storage

Please note that the 'Best Before' dates on our food items serve as a guideline and are not a guarantee of shelf life. We recommend keeping the products, once opened, in suitable storage containers, preferably air tight, in a cool, dark storage area. Storage factors outside our control, especially once opened, such as temperature, humidity, cross contamination, may affect product longevity.

Chia Seeds, Organic Dark

The original overnight-pudding hero. Organic dark chia seeds swell into a thick, spoonable gel that makes effortless chia puddings, smarter smoothies and a clever vegan egg replacer for binding. High in fibre and high in protein, with plant-based omega-3 (ALA).

  • What they do: mix with liquid and they form a silky gel — perfect for puddings, jams and binding
  • Top uses: chia puddings, overnight oats, smoothies, baking, and as an egg replacement in vegan recipes
  • Naturally good: high in fibre and high in protein, with omega-3 (ALA); contains all 8 essential amino acids plus the non-essential acids
  • Quality: premium organic South American dark chia (with a few white and golden seeds), Novel Foods approved for sale within the EU
  • Better value in bulk: larger bags work out cheaper per kilo — handy if chia pudding is a daily habit

Suggested uses: bulk chia for puddings, chia seeds for smoothies and overnight oats, a chia egg for vegan baking, sprinkled over cereal and salads, stirred into homemade jam, or combined with our hemp, sunflower-seed and almond powders for a natural protein shake.

Packed in the UK by our small Scottish team and backed by our RFS60 60-day no-quibble guarantee.

Our dark chia seed also contains a small amount of white and golden seeds. It is produced in South America, with the country of origin varying between harvests and batches (recent batches from Argentina, Mexico and Paraguay) — please ask if origin is required. All our chia seed is Novel Foods approved for sale within the EU.
